2014 started with a splash in Kenya’s tropical Indian Ocean, but a month later, I was holding my breath in the ice-cold rivers deep within the Cedarberg Mountains. Alien fish species were introduced into the rivers of the Western Cape in South Africa because indigenous fish were not ‘sporty’ enough for anglers. This proved to be a big mistake….

The fynbos fish made their debut in the French Nature magazine Terre Sauvage...  “It was a great article and we were quite pleased that they covered “non charismatic” wildlife in such great details.”  Director of IUCN’s Save Our Species programme
